Fasting-Mimicking Retreats at Lake St Clair

A Time to Restore, Reconnect & Renew

Escape the demands of everyday life and immerse yourself in nature at Tasmania’s Lake St Clair.

Our intimate six-day Fasting-Mimicking Retreat combines a structured nutritional program with gentle movement, Daoist-inspired wellbeing practices, guided nature experiences and time for deep rest.

Set within the pristine wilderness of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area, the retreat offers a peaceful and supportive environment in which to focus on your wellbeing.

With a maximum of six guests, each retreat is designed to provide a personal, unhurried experience.

A Personal Journey in Nature

Surrounded by the ancient wilderness of Lake St Clair, our intimate wellness retreats offer an opportunity to step away from everyday demands and reconnect with your wellbeing.

At the heart of the experience is ProLon®, the scientifically formulated five-day Fasting-Mimicking Diet developed from the pioneering research of Dr Valter Longo, internationally recognised for his contributions to longevity and ageing science.

Each guest receives the complete Organic ProLon® five-day Fasting-Mimicking Diet package, following the established nutritional protocol. This is complemented by gentle Qigong, Daoist-inspired wellbeing practices, guided nature experiences, individual therapeutic sessions and time for deep rest.

With a maximum of six guests, the retreat offers a personal, peaceful and unhurried experience.

Understanding the Fasting-Mimicking Diet

The Fasting-Mimicking Diet (FMD) is a carefully structured, five-day nutritional approach developed through the pioneering research of Dr Valter Longo, Director of the Longevity Institute at the University of Southern California.

Unlike traditional water-only fasting, an FMD provides a controlled intake of predominantly plant-based foods while aiming to reproduce some of the physiological responses associated with fasting.

Our retreat features the complete Organic ProLon® five-day Fasting-Mimicking Diet package. Each guest follows the established nutritional protocol, receiving specially formulated foods, soups, snacks and beverages designed for each day of the program.

Scientific research into fasting-mimicking diets has investigated their potential effects on metabolic health, including glucose regulation and cardiometabolic risk markers.

At Lake St Clair Lodge, the nutritional program is complemented by gentle Daoist therapies, guided nature experiences, relaxation and personal wellbeing sessions.

The retreat concludes with a carefully planned refeeding day, supporting a gradual transition back towards normal eating patterns.

Your Retreat Experience

At Lake St Clair, we believe that wellbeing is nurtured through a thoughtful combination of nutrition, rest, gentle Daoist therapies, connection with nature and time away from everyday demands.

Our intimate Fasting-Mimicking Retreat brings these elements together in a carefully curated experience, combining the scientifically developed Organic ProLon® nutritional program with personalised wellbeing activities in the tranquillity of Tasmania’s wilderness.

If this is your first experience with fasting, rest assured that you will be supported throughout your journey. Our team will be on hand to offer guidance, encouragement and reassurance as you explore the Fasting-Mimicking Diet in the peaceful surroundings of Lake St Clair.
